As the world shrinks and borders fade with the advent of online communication it is important to realize the media’s impact on our daily lives. Traditional forms of media, while still very present, are evolving to incorporate new forms of communication.
The University of Guelph-Humber is a place where the convergence of hands on practical experience, critical thinking, research, and analysis will give you an edge in a very competitive industry.
The Media Studies program will teach you how to write for print, radio, TV and the Internet as well as engage you in the study of the media’s role in society. The diversity of topics covered by the media studies program is what makes it unique. You will hone your skills over fours years after which you will graduate with an honours degree, a diploma, and the confidence to be a integral part of the world around you.
Once you have developed your skills in the classroom, you will get a chance to apply them during an eight-week internship completed in your fourth year of study. You will get a chance to work with employers in your field of interest as well as meet contacts that will help you to continue your career.
The ever-evolving field of journalism demands an ever-evolving classroom. Guelph-Humber offers students the opportunity to learn in a dynamic, innovative institution.
