BURLI - capturing audio

There are two ways of importing audio into Burli: using an analog audio device (tape recorder) or by importing a digital audio file such as an mp3 or wav.

Importing digital audio files

The 'External Files' function is the easiest way to import audio into Burli. If your audio recorder can export audio to either mp3 or wav format, you can simply save your audio to a USB key or burn it on to a cdrom. Follow these simple steps to import audio files into Burli:

1. Go to the OPEN menu, select EXTERNAL FILE(S)

2. Select the files you want to import. Burli can open mp3 or wav audio files.

3. Locate the file and press the OK button (or double-click it) to import it into your Work folder. You should see a progress bar for the conversion. You must wait for all processing to complete before using Burli for other tasks.

Once this process is complete, you will see the imported files in the Work folder.

Importing analog audio

This process is a little more complicated but it is required if your audio recorder uses analog tapes or does not support exporting to mp3 or wav file formats.

Essentially, you connect your voice recorder's headphone output to the computer's line input and then active Burli's sound record function.

Follow this interactive guide to help you connect the hardware and start recording:
