FINAL CUT PRO - Burning a Video DVD

There are two major steps involved in this process. Step One consists of converting the FinalCutPro project into a QuickTime movie. In Step Two you will insert the QuickTime clip into Toast which will then convert it into dvd format video and burn it onto a dvd disc.

Exporting the project to QuickTime

Open your Final Cut Project.

  • Go to File > Export > QuickTime Movie

  • Name the movie and save it.
  • The rendering process takes a few minutes - depending on the length of your video.

  • Open Roxio Toast.
  • Select Video in the mode menu.

  • In the left drawer menu, select the options shown below:

  • Drop the previously rendered QuickTime movie into the white area of Toast.
  • If you see a picture of a video camera here, select it and press the delete key.
  • Your Toast window should now look like this:

  • Click on Edit...
  • Under the Video tab, select Every 5 Minutes for your dvd chapters:

  • Insert a blank DVDR and click the red button. Toast will convert the QuickTime clip to DVD format and burn the disc.
